Brazil  Aug – Sept 2022 Mission Trip

We want to thank the Lord for the opportunity that He opened to serve the people of Brazil and share the love of Jesus with them.  Ten years ago, God had spoken to Jins about going to Brazil.  At that time, he was busy with work and did not go.  But, since starting the ministry, Jins wanted to make sure that he was obedient to the call he heard back then.  He was able to travel to different parts of Brazil, beginning with Maringa, a brief but meaningful few days in Sao Paulo and from there went to Porto Velho, Labria and the Amazon jungle.

During the first week in Maringa, God opened the doors to go and preach in a church, men’s groups, house visiting and a rehabilitation center.  It was a blessed time in which Jins was moved by people’s genuine hunger to know God more and experience His power.  The rehab center was a place for women who were recovering from drug addictions and some of whom had turned from a life of prostitution.  When Jins was invited to share there, the man who took him told him that the women there were very rough and tough and had gone through a lot of hard things in their lives.  As Jins was sharing his testimony and preaching from God’s Word, their were eyes filled with tears and it was apparent that God was speaking to them.  He gave them the message of hope through Jesus Christ.  He also had the privilege of visiting Indian gypsies who had immigrated to Brazil long ago and they were so happy to see him since he is from India.  He had the opportunity to share with them and pray for them.

A pastor Jins had not met before picked him up when he reached Sao Paulo and took care of him for a couple of days.  He did not speak English, but they used Google translate to communicate.  He visited two churches during his time there.  When they were going to the first meeting, the pastor told him that he was trying to find someone to translate, but he couldn’t find anyone.  Then he told him that he found someone, but he was a fourteen-year-old boy and the boy had a bad past and his family life was messed up.  The pastor got a message from the boy that since the pastor needed help, he would help him with translating.  Nobody knew that this boy could speak English, not even the pastor or his parents.  When Jins met him, he began to talk with him in English and nobody could believe it.  The next day, instead of going to school, he went with Jins for the meeting.  God used that young boy to share God’s love with the people there.  God always has ways to speak to people.

After that, Jins went to Porto Velho, from where he took an eight-hour bus ride to Labria and stayed two nights and where he joined five other believers.  From there, they traveled nine hours by boat deeper into the Amazon jungle.  They were going to where conferences were being held for indigenous tribes and people of different Amazon tribes were coming to join together.  Jins was invited to share his testimony one evening during the conferences.  After hearing that, they also invited him to share the last evening of the meetings.  They had planned everything the year before and had speakers scheduled, so he wasn’t even supposed to be on their agenda.  After he had spoken the last night, around ten people gave their lives to Christ.  One man rededicated his life to the Lord after twenty-two years of walking away from the Lord and church and having any relationship with Christ.  He gave his life back to Christ that night.  All glory and honor belong to Christ.  When we obey Him, He does the rest.

During those two weeks in the jungle, they hiked for hours and lots of miles to reach different villages.  They were bitten by bugs and found it difficult to find good water to drink.  They saw God’s faithfulness and love for the people they visited.  Jins had the opportunity to go with the tribal people to fish.  They live that way because there are no grocery stores to go and buy food.  He and his friends carried rice, beans, oil and salt and most of the time people would give them fish or they would fish to make up the rest of their meals.  There saw crocodiles everywhere they went.

The Brazilian government does not allow missionaries to go far into the jungle except with a pass and sometimes they don’t even give that, so pray that God would enable people from these indigenous tribes to be able to go as missionaries to the more remote tribes.

After two weeks, Jins went back to Porto Velho where he stayed with YWAM (Youth With A Mission), at their base.  The YWAM base had a number of schools going on, including Discipleship Training School and a linguistics school.  He had the opportunity to share with the classes of the various schools and in base meetings.  He went to preach in a church and then went to another church to give some teaching.  It was a blessed time of encouraging believers and missionaries in training.

As a first trip for Christ For All Tribes, God has opened so many doors in Brazil.  Jins came back excited and is looking forward to the next trip.  We anticipate a number of solo trips during these first years of the ministry as it develops and look forward to the future as it grows when we can take more mission minded believers with him.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
