We want to thank the Lord for the opportunity that He opened to travel to Dubai and India and minister to people there. Our vision for this ministry is to not only reach tribal people groups around the world, but also to encourage the body of Christ. This trip was very much about doing just that.
On the way to India, Jins stopped in Dubai for a few days, where he had the opportunity to share in a church and share with a few different families and new acquaintances, encouraging them and praying with them. God has opened more doors for him to go back in the future.
From there, Jins went to India and was planning to travel from his home state of Kerala to another state, but found that the government has passed anti-conversion laws in the state where he was planning to go. So, he was not able to travel there. It looks like eventually all the states will be passing the anti-conversion law. Please keep India in your prayers that God will reach out to those who are lost in darkness. With certain doors being closed, Jins had the opportunity to share an online message where people joined to listen from different parts of the world. He was also able to visit different families, spending time with them, encouraging and praying with them. Through all of this, Jins was invited to go to England in the summer months to work with a college ministry.
A very unexpected turn of events happened while in Kerala, that Jins could meet with a famous Indian movie director. About eighteen years ago, God put the desire in Jins’ heart to make a Christian movie, which would be a story of a family whose life was dramatically changed by Jesus. There are around 30 million people in the state of Kerala, which has its own movie industry in their own language. Jins knew of a director who is a Christian and wanted to meet him for a long time, but didn’t know how to get in touch with him. He just kept it in his prayers, waiting for God’s time if it was His will.
One weekend, a few weeks ago, Jins had an opportunity to go and visit friends in Cochin, and went with them to their church. The man who opened the door to welcome them at the church looked familiar to Jins and he asked his friends who the man was. They told him that he was an elder in the church and he was also the movie director who Jins had wanted to meet for so long. While he did not visit with the man or even introduce himself there, he prayed that if it was God’s will, God would bring about their meeting.
Later, his friends told him that this movie director was a friend of theirs and the next week, they called Jins to tell him that they were coming to visit and they were bringing two guests with them – this movie director and his wife.
They came to Jins’ family home, about a week before he was to travel back to the States and spent the day and had a great visit. Jins and his Mom and brother shared their story and testimony with the director and Jins shared his desire to make a movie with a similar story and message. The director told him that he has wondered why God put him in the movie industry and that he has also had a desire to make a Christian movie. They all prayed together and left everything in God’s hands.
